Whatever the above did, I could see the pictures of the levels I was about to play, and load the maps to play them. This is good.
After my first matchmaking game, the Xbox DVD/DVDdrive started making the repetitive "reading" sound again. Then, it was NOT working - like it did last night.
What should I try? Is turning the XBOX vertically ( | instead of _ ) a good thing to do? Is most (Kleenex) tissue good to clean a DVD with? It feels kind of silky (moisture-y) to me. Thx.

all of a sudden whenever i get in a matchmaking game it just takes me out of it back to the lobby, and when i try to go to theater or custom games, my load time only goes to like 12 then takes me out of the game.

For some reason when i go on matchmaking it sayd it cant connect to halo servers aND there is a population of 0 online. Whatr do i have to do? will power cycling work?

Once you get booted immediately open your dashboard again, and it will allow you to log into matchmaking and play. You won't have that problem anymore until you power cycle. Mine lasts for about 4-6 minutes usually, but I just go into my rep, check out my friends list, etc. It will freeze up, like its trying to open it, and then tell me I have disconnected. But I log in and play after that.

no. silver is always freee but you need gold to play online. silver just gets you downloads and such, gold gets all of that plus online gaming. its a stupid system where microsoft gets money. and xboxlive aint what it use to be. i like it better on the original xbox.

Has anyone played the Crackdown Demo?
If you have played the Crackdown Demo from XBOX LIVE, how do you find a friend to play Co-Op with? I know that the real feature is disabled in the Demo, but is it possible to play with a friend through filters or matchmaking or anything?

I remember reading an article form Bungie saying that they are now using the ban hammer on people who stand-by, mod, hack, and bridge. So don't worry too much about having to have box host.

I don't get respect from my fiance..........?
I would like a few opinions on what this means.......I am engaged and supposed to be getting married in July to a woman I have been w/for 4 years and fathered 2 wonderful children with. Recently I found an online conv. between my fiance and the babysitter in which the babysitter was trying to convince my fiance to go behind my back, leave me, take my kids and move in with her b'cus she wanted to leave her boyfriend and she said that I didn't treat my fiance right and that god had someone else for her in mind (thats right, now god does matchmaking!?!?) when I read this I quickly proceeded to fire the babysitter and give her a piece of my mind,basically my fiance took the babysitters side and sympathized w/her, and for all my trouble I was called an ******** and a bbastard by my fiance, I thought I was defending my family and my household, but apparently my fiance doesn't think so, I think she has no respect for me at all, what are your thoughts, anyone have a different pt. of view??

It has been exactly one week since the original date set my bungie to reset the ranks and circulate the two new maps into matchmaking. When will they finally take care of this

First, please understand I've been doing astrological charts for more than 25 years. Although one must use math to use astrology, astrology is not science. It is more like philosophy, psychology, or other disciplines that require a belief system. There are rules in astrology, but these rules are synergistic.

Islam is growing and spreading , this is fantastic. it seems the more the media demonizes Islam, the more people convert to Islam. western media in their bid to cast Islam in a bad light, has had the reverse effect.

As for clothing, I wear western clothing still but it is modest by any Muslim standards. I love the shalmar kameez. I love the swish of a long skirt, and the comfort of the scarf. The net has been a great source of clothing. Quality gypsy clothing and good business wear that fit the Muslim standards are hard to find but on the net there are many options.
So i would say you are pretty right on in your assessment. I am Canadian and reverted just over a year ago now. But remember, sister, you speak of American Sisters. It is not so good for our sisters in the Middle East. In some countries they have a good deal of freedom. Here I think of Turkey and Iran and Lebanon and Jordan and Egypt and India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Women do quite well there on the whole.

Well, yeah, I still don't get it. Mine is 19, gonna be 20 tomorrow and I still haven't found anybody to connect enough with, and I don't know if I missed the mail with her or not or if she suddenly appears. when i play halo, i go to matchmaking, then i select network and xbox live. A screen pops up that says "Not Allowed, some gamer profiles do not have permission to play on xbox live, choose a valid gamer profile or play local to this xbox 360 console." I have a gold membership and i was just on xbox live yesterday.

If you would like the logo as well simply visit Bungie.net and sign in your profile linking it with your gamertag. Then on the edit profile page, scroll down to where it says "make Halo 3 icon appear" or something along those lines.
It's the same process as Halo 2. Remember when people had Bungie.net on there gamertag. Same thing different logo.

Help with Halo 3 on xbox live!!?
These past two weeks, Xbox Live has been going through some weird technical problems. This same thing happened to me twice last week, and last night. Just wait it out, and give the Live Server sometime to reboot and stuff. I waited for about a day, and then everything was fine.

I just got Halo 3, pretty awesome game. However, I can't figure out how to search for a co-op online game. Is this feature even possible?
I found the matchmaking and stuff but to me it seems the online co-op is restricted to friends only or invites. I couldn't find or figure out how to join an online co-op game. If it exists, can someone explain how to do it?

Ordinarily I despise/fear online matchmaking but 2 of my close friends have met really great people from it. One of them is actually getting married after dating the guy for 4 years. My friends told me to try, but I still have my doubts. I think I might be better off just meeting people in person. What do you all think?

I say try it for a while. Keep yourself open to all possibilities. I did the online thing. I didn't like it. I have three friends who met their love online. Now they are married. I can't stand it!!! But they aren't like me. I flirt and date differently. I have been meeting great people doing it my own way. Take an interesting class. At least you know you have the same interests and he/she has a brain! I'm a shy person and the only way I could break out of it was to put myself out there and not have the security of being anonymous through a computer. Now I have more confidence, my social skills have improved and I've been meeting great guys and friends. I say do what feels comfortable, not what the masses do. Their way is not the only way. The online stuff is always a last resort for me. I prefer to get some sun and look for a cutie. Have fun and good luck!!!

When we finally met in person, I tried to make conversation, she didn't communicate at all. The date was terrible. Basically, online dating doesn't capture the important things that happen in real life dating, like the human interaction part of it. There has to be a certain chemistry in the air, you can't get that with online dating through the net.
You won't be spending you life talking through email, you'll be spending it looking at each other eye to eye, communicating in person, not behind a keyboard and screen. In real life, once you meet someone, you know right then and there most of the time if it's possible for this to work. Online, it's all a guessing game until you actually meet in person and really talk.
Some people get very lucky with it.

I love this guy, my colleague, who is like 26 year old and I am 20. I met him at a job attactment assigned by the sch. I dun know since when I started liking him. If you are taking about Halo 3. I did the same thing ( Made a 48 Hour Trial) and it didn't let me in to MatchMaking. Its just a Glitch in Bungie's system they should fix it if enough people complain.

for some reason when i join matchmaking it never gives me alot of the maps. ( for instiance the sand stage) ive beat it alone on heroic so they should be open for multi player games. any help?

I don't get these guys who go on and on about confidence and independence being so attractive in a woman, but then the second they realize I am one of those woman, they hit the floor running.
Why wouldn't a man want to be with a woman who doesn't spend all his money? Are they really happier with needy, whiney, emotionally underdeveloped women who are totally incapable of taking care of them selves? Is it some kind of male "provider" instinct?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m no butch, man-hating, chick; my one truest dream is to be a wife and stay at home mother some day. But that doesn’t mean I have to be a helpless “little woman”, that I have to give up who I am or everything I have worked for?

They like (from my experience) to know they're not the center of your universe and you can do without them, when they need their "man time." So imo, that's not the issue. The issue is how you choose to display this confidence and independence. Do you compromise? Do you LISTEN to HIS needs/ Do you really? Look, you can bee a strong, independent, confident woman. Guys do like that. They like (from my experience) to know they're not the center of your universe and you can do without them, when they need their "man time." They also like their woman pretty, educated and looking good when she's introduced to his family (able to carry conversation, sound intelligent, shine).
So imo, that's not the issue. The issue is how you choose to display this confidence and independence. Do you compromise? Do you LISTEN to HIS needs/ Do you really? whenever i get into a sword duel in halo 3 online matchmaking, i usually come out the loser. is there any trick like maybe i should melee instead of lunging or something?

I read that on dec 11th the halo 3 map pack will be on xbox marketplace. Im not familiar with downloading maps for halo...what i did read was that halo 2 maps were brought in and it divided the online players into 2 sections...1 group who had the maps and 2 the people without...My questions are, with this map pack coming out will i have to download it to make it a playable map in matchmaking?? Will these maps only be in custom? If i but the pack and my friend doesnt, can he play them with me?? How does this work? PLEASE BE DETAILED!! THANX!!

My halo 3 disc won't load campaign missions?
My halo 3 disc lets me play in matchmaking slayer and everything but it wont load missions in campaign and it will say disc read error as i finish the first level and the only one that loads. what can i do to repair that or how can i make it work?

i had that problem. there were some technical difficulties in some of the halo 3's so i had to go back to the store i bought it from and replace it (for free).
Reply:Maybe laser intensity was too strong for this disc. I increase resistance from 3.4k to 4.1k . It work fine . No dirty disc issue, just dvd reader (I think!) If too much resistance , above 4.7k it can not read any other game at all . Hope it help. Report It

o k so this is what happens first i put on halo 3 then i try to pick my profile with xbox live, but when i pick the profile it takes to long and freezes. i go back and pick a other profile with xbox live it goes well and then i go to matchmaking and it says on the side. well i enjoy playing halo 3 and very often it says my nat is moderate but when i first got my xbox and router it was great
i have a linksys router and it says its model is wrt54g and my computer has windows xp on it
when i play on matchmaking it says something about nat not being open and it can effect the game and alot it just lags so bad like it says spawning in 5 seconds for a long time or my enemies just walk in a strait line doing nothing, and in gears of war its just awful trying to play if im not the host
so if anyone can help me with simple terms on how to fix this i would really appreciate it

How do i log in to my linksys router?
after i put in 192.168.1.1 it asks for username and password and i dont have any kind of password for my router plz help. I want to switch my NAT to open so I can join friends on Halo 3, instead of having moderate and matchmaking being slow

you have to hold the pin down for at least 30 seconds to clear all the old settings out the reset the password and your good to go

you have to hold the pin down for at least 30 seconds to clear all the old settings out the reset the password and your good to go

when i go into matchmaking it says "information could not be retrieved from halo3 server" ive been waiting for a while now and it has not retrieved anything yet!! i already restarted the xbox, rejected the cd, waited for an hour, but none of that has worked, and i see people playing halo 3 online so, could somebody please tell me what to do! or what the heck is happening lol thank you :)

Why does my xbox 360 live keep disconnecting during Halo 2?
For some reason my Xbox live will drop me from matchmaking in Halo 2 for no reason. It will disconnect me from Xbox live and I will have to restart my machine to get it back. It is really odd.
I have tried doing all kinds of things with the network including putting my IP (from the xbox 360) in the DMZ of the network as well as resetting IP's etc.

I have a large quanity of used industrial woodworking machinery which was suppose to go to a Chilean company but has been bogged down in negogiations. Let me know if you have any contact in the woodworking industry. These are mostly huge lathes for making columns and as well as door and window machinery. But I can get anything from single pieces to whole factories.

I never like it before, but since i got no games to play with i decided to pick it up and is not bad at all.

How to become a halo player.?
A couple quick tips..
Playing in Ranked matches will place you with other players at a similar skill level.. Sometimes in Social matches you end up with players with much more experience than you have.. However, in the ranked matches you may not be able to stay together after the match..
To start playing with the same people send friend invites to people you have played with.. then watch for the arrows next to their gamertag in your friends list to join them in future games..
Keep moving.. if you stay in one place too long.. especially if you shot at someone from there you will have people coming for you.. until you know the maps better, pick a simple route where you can run in a loop and control a small area.. as you learn the maps better you can expand your patrol area and mix things up a bit..
Whenever you are being shot at JUMP.. it might make them start missing and it gives you a second to figure out where it's coming from..
Use grenades.. as soon as you see someone throw a grenade at them before you start shooting.. it might make the difference..
If people get close use the Melee attack to beat them down.. and if you are behind them use Melee because you will kill them in one hit without them getting a chance to fight back..
Watch your radar (in the lower left corner) it lets you know when people are sneaking up behind you.. radar only tracks players in motion though so if they are standing still you won't see them..
On the team games use a headset and ask questions.. try to coordinate with the other players.. a team working together is hard to beat..
Learn the maps.. use the Theater to revisit games you have played to see where everything is.. you can even view the game through another player so you if you encounter someone really good replay the game and see how they play..

According to my career stats on Bungie.net, out of like the 1200 kills I have so far, the highest # of them are a result of melee...ALSO, out of all my deaths, the highest # of them are a result of being melee-ed down as well.

Well mine is glitched and it wont let the catch skull appear. Im not killing the wraiths and ive tried everything. I need sombody to host a game on The Storm so that i can go and get the stupid skull. Im at school at the moment so please leave your gamertag and a msn adress if you have one.

About the glitch that you mentioned, you need to complete the game on Normal or higher difficulties. If Normal won't work, try Heroic.
The glitch of the Catch skull is really common and is no bigger deal. Just try playing and complete the campaign using higher difficulty......

I have a D-link router, and it's hooked up directly to my xbox...when i try and invite friends to play it says sorry you have restricted NAT, how do i change it to open NAT...when i play on matchmaking it's fine, it's just very slow...the problem is when i invite friends

I've seen this happen a couple times. Try exiting and reentering the matchmaking lobby. That usually clears it up for me!

I'm dating a gal. We met through an online matchmaking site and appear to be a good match. We've talked for a bit over a week now, and we will have our first date soon. This is obviously way too soon to ask for exclusivity, but I have been wondering if she's seeing anyone else, it seems like the answer to that question would be a good indicator of whether she's happy with how things are going so far, and it would also tell me whether *I* should stay exclusive or whether I should see other women.
I'm not planning to ask the question until after our first date, but when do you think would be a good time to ask it?
