When I try to enter Halo 2 matchmaking on Xbox Live, I get the "You are missing a map required for this playlist" message. However, I have downloaded the two newest maps at least 3 times. Also, when I sign out, I get a message that reads something like, "A downloaded file is corrupted." Recently my Xbox 360 did the Red Ring of Death thing, so I've been playing my friend's 360 with %26lt;i%26gt;my%26lt;/i%26gt; hard drive. This is when the problem started, and I was wondering if that possibly had something to do with it..?
HALO 2- You are missing a map required for this playlist?
Sometime that message appears when there is a group of us in matchmaking. It usually disappears when the culprit switches his Xbox off then on again.
Try downloading ALL the maps, it may be that it's one of the older maps that has become corrupted.
Reply:Be careful about playing content that was downloaded on a different 360. The downloadable content is encrypted to the console (it isn’t the HD though). That may have corrupted the files. Microsoft went to this method to prevent customers from downloading an Arcade game to a memory card and putting it on a friends console too, much the way that things happened when the Halo 3 multi-player map pack was released on disk. However, it caused problems when they had to replace a console instead of repair it, because the DLC was lost and had to be repurchased. You may want to see if Microsoft has any resolves to the issue by calling 1-800-469-9269.
