Is my space really a dating site? or do schools block the site for fun?

i go to school and we have a computer that we can go on the internet. I go to myspace.com but the server says,"sorry this site is blocked for the following reasons-dating and match making! so im like WHAT? it seems so dumb to me! every one has a myspace! so what do they mean dating and matchmaking?

MySpace is YourSpace and you can make it whatever you want. I myself use it for keeping in touch with friends. All of em, the good ones the barely ones, the new and the old. A couple of my friends have used it for dating and have had good experiences, yet I also think it has to do with a lot of the concerns about kids being abducted by a "friend" they meet on MySpace. I remember the internet was just starting to get popular when I was in Jr. High and we had just gotten AOL in our house. There was a big scare atthat time of young grils meeting older men in chatrooms and getting abducted. Nothing has really changed, it's jus now instead of Chatrooms it's MySpace. All I can say is, be careful.
Reply:so type in the name of your myspace instead...like myspace.com/yourname and then click home and sign in. most of the time they just block the actual www.myspace.com


Its not a dating site anyway. They're just assholes.

Reply:Some people use MySpace for dating... but schools have weird standards. My school thinks it's porn. Which it bans.
Reply:myspace is not for dating and match making. it is a site where you can go and look at other people's profiles, listen to bands, make friends, leave comments, and just get to kow people. it isn't bad (if used correctly).
