Cheating in multi-player online games, ruins the game?

Everytime I play an online video game in multiplayer, about 4 out of 5 players are cheating one way or another in games that you gain points from. Example: Everytime you play matchmaking in Halo 2 in xbox live, nearly every opposing team, is cheating...even with the latest update; it's ridiculous. The most aggravating part is, they talk crap as if they're professional and are the best. All I ever get now is, stand-byed...by some teenage moron, who thinks he can beat up every living person.





Another example: I played COD for the PC at my cousin's house, online multiplayer. We got hacked every game and he says its the same everyday.





These annoying losers ruin the game for others, because they can't even play a video game.





The most annoying thing though, is LAG and HOST. Those are the most unfair advantages, yet people still think that they are the best, when playing on those.





Honestly, it's just not fun anymore,all BS.





What are your opinions on all of this ongoing, annoying stuff?

My opinion is that if you cheat at a game which gives you no real life reward (i.e. no money or anything) then you're not only a dirty cheater, you're ******* sad. I like gaming when it's fair. I recommend you get a PS3. The PSN network, while free, is strict on cheaters. In Motorstorm they had an infinate boost glitch, they fixed that in a patch. In Resistance you get banned fast if you glitch or cheat. And I'm sure they'll fix the team killing problem (only happened to me a couple of times) in Warhawk. LOL and Host isn't cheating, it's just being a retard. I can't tell you how many times I've been kicked from a player hosted server for owning the host too much.
Reply:Yes it's BS, but if you keep playing once you know ppl are cheating, you are letting them get away with it. Move on to another game/room, and let those ppl end up (eventually) in rooms by themselves, with no one to worship them. Seriously, it works!
Reply:I never even knew there was multiplayer games that have cheats I thought online multiplayer games are meant to be played the fai way. The only cheats I know in online gaming world are the bots.....
Reply:well i think that the people who make these games and the people who make the machine they are played on (360, PC etc) are trying to prevent people cheating.





you have picked some old-ish games, newer games have more protection from cheats.





my view on this is that they can cheat when there not online but when they are and they cheat it's just (angry word here) annoying.
