Xbox live NAT is moderate, how do i change it?

When i play halo 3 in matchmaking a message comes up saying my NAT is not open. I went and tested the connection and it says my NAT is set to moderate. I have a router. How do i change the NAT to open? Sometimes the NAT will say its open and other times it says its moderate.

Routers have things called ports which allow connections to made through them. Ports are closed by default and certain ports need to be opened for xbox live to function correctly.

Go to that website with help on how to port forward. It is different for each router.


For Xbox live you will need to open ports:


• UDP 3074


• TCP 3074





After doing this turn off ur xbox and your router and turn them on and run the test. It should then always say its open.
